BestEverHomeBusiness, Profitable and Portable.

Recently we just enjoyed a road trip from Tamworth to The Gold Coast so we could drop my mum off at a resort for a 4 week holiday. My BestEverHomeBusiness  didn’t miss a beat because I could sit beside the pool and speak to people around the world that are looking for what we offer … A portable and profitable business that allows us to enjoy a lifestyle.

When I made the decision 7 years ago to move forward with this business model, I could not even send an email so looking back I’m not sure how I thought I could create success in an online business. ( lucky I don’t over think things) I remember sitting in front of my computer some days in tears feeling really overwhelmed and thinking what am I doing. Like any journey it starts with the first step and over the last 7 years I have just taken lots of steps forwards always moving towards my goals. What that meant was following our simple system, our training and being a product of our Personal Development products.

What comes to mind is….. It may not have been easy but it sure is worth it.

what a legend

Col (best husband ever) has joined me in our BestEverHomeBusiness recently with his marketing niche, ‘GetOffTheTools‘, means we can travel anytime or anywhere we want with no time constrictions.

However we do absolutely love being home on our 400 acre lifestyle block with our…. 7 horses, 9 dogs, 2 cats, 8 Pigeons ,1 ferret , 23 chickens, 8 goats, 3 turkeys, 2 geese and a 54 year old turtle called Sam…. (oh and my Mum who is 85 going on 50.). Our Son and his family also have a home on the property so they are available to look after the animals when we decide it is time for some travel.

NOW as the ‘Happy Baby Boomers‘ this is the exact reason why we saw massive potential with BestEverHomeBusiness, and unmatched ROI, for Time and Money FREEDOM.

What are you looking to achieve?

Would you like to start your journey with me, and help me guide you to your created future?   It is easier than you think because this is exactly what you need to do … Think.

Cheers, Chrissy.

10 Little Things Successful People Do Differently

This article about successful people by Success Magazine struck a chord with me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I…. Chrissy

10 Little Things Successful People Do Differently

Achieving your biggest goals doesn’t happen by accident.

Successful people think differently, act differently and ultimately distinguish themselves from unsuccessful people by taking a distinctive path toward their goals.

successful people

Successful people all have similar traits and similar patterns. The truth is that being successful is not far-fetched if you can learn what other successful people do. And no, it doesn’t have to be big acts of philanthropy or innovation. It can be small things, things you can do every day to reach your goals.

Here are 10 things successful people do daily:

successful people

1. They strive for consistency.

Successful people are focused on meeting their objectives and this is why they have a consistent schedule. According to Rameet Chawla, founder of Fueled, having a consistent schedule aids prioritization and allows you to keep the important tasks at the top of your list.

2. They set daily goals.

Kenneth Chenault, CEO of American Express, has a detailed plan for his day by writing down three things he wants to accomplish the next day. Successful people are clear about their goals and having a list to propel them to meeting these goals sets them apart.

3. They nurture the right relationships.

In his book Tribes, Seth Godin explains there are tribes everywhere hungry for connection, meaning and change. Successful people look for support and find people they can connect with intellectually. Find your tribe and collaborate, play off each other’s strengths and watch everyone grow. Jim Rohn says you are the average of your five closest friends. Who are yours?

4. They display high emotional intelligence.

Emotionally intelligent people constantly look for ways to add value and contribute to their environment. They use their emotional awareness to think progressively and find answers to problems. This quality helps them to inspire others to be successful, too. According to Steve Jobs, “Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it; they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while.

5. They take action.

Successful people take action. Nothing is solved when you let the feeling of overwhelm set you back. Through actions you can attain results and discover a path toward your goals.

6. They practice positive self-talk.

When you use phrases like, Today is going to be a great day or I am successful, you boost your intellectual ability and improve your chances of attaining your goals for the day.

successful people

7. They stay healthy.

President Barack Obama exercises 45 minutes per day, six days a week. A healthy mind and body is the first step to success. Your body is a vehicle to everything you achieve. Such physical activity doesn’t only keep the body physically healthy; it also improves one’s mental state.

8. They meditate.

Meditation allows you to focus and be more productive. Oprah Winfrey speaks about the great benefits of meditation and how the results have included better relationships and being more creative.

9. They act on small improvements toward their major goals.

According to Henry Ford, “Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small pieces1.” Successful people apply the domino effect toward their ambitions by making small and continuous improvements every day.

10. They wake up early.

From Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, to Jeffrey Immelt, the CEO of General Electric, waking up early seems to be the tradition of successful people. So much can be done within those wee hours of the day that is much harder to accomplish when distractions, meetings and environmental noise are added.

In the end, it takes consistent practice to be successful.

Success doesn’t happen by accident, but because you have committed yourself to certain activities, that will help you reach your goals.

10 Habits of the Ultra Likeable Leaders

10 Habits of Ultra Likeable Leaders

“I read this article about being a likeable leaders in Success Magazine by Travis Bradberry and thought why is this so simple but on the outside is so complicated. It’s just a matter of being aware of how you think and what you say that makes all the difference”. s I love the saying,

“Sometimes it’s better to sit there and look like an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove that you are”.   Chrissy Greig.  (I’ve been there)   pls enjoy.

likeable leaders

Likeability isn’t a birthright—it results from acquirable skills that are crucial to your success.
June 28, 2016

Too many people succumb to the mistaken belief that being likeable comes from natural traits that belong only to a lucky few. In this article, originally published on LinkedIn Pulse, Dr. Travis Bradberry explains how being likeable is under your control, and it’s a matter of emotional intelligence (EQ).

If you want to be a leader whom people follow with absolute conviction, you have to be a likeable leader. Tyrants and curmudgeons with brilliant vision can command a reluctant following for a time, but it never lasts. They burn people out before they ever get to see what anyone is truly capable of.

When I speak to smaller audiences, I ask them to describe the best and worst leaders they have ever worked for. People inevitably ignore innate characteristics (intelligence, extraversion, attractiveness and so on) and instead focus on qualities that are completely under the leader’s control, such as approachability, humility and positivity.

likeable leaders

These and other words describe leaders who are skilled in emotional intelligence. TalentSmart research data from more than a million people shows that leaders who possess these qualities aren’t just highly likeable, they outperform those who don’t possess them by a large margin.

Becoming a more likeable leader is completely under your control and it’s a matter of emotional intelligence (EQ). Unlike innate, fixed characteristics, such as your intelligence (IQ), EQ is a flexible skill that you can improve with effort.

What follows are 10 key behaviors that emotionally intelligent leaders engage in that make them so likeable.

1. They form personal connections.

Even in a crowded room, likeable leaders make people feel like they’re having a one-on-one conversation, as if they’re the only person in the room that matters. And, for that moment, they are. Likeable leaders communicate on a very personal, emotional level. They never forget that there’s a flesh-and-blood human being standing in front of them.

2. They’re approachable.

You know those people who only have time for you if you can do something for them? Likeable leaders truly believe that everyone, regardless of rank or ability, is worth their time and attention. They make everyone feel valuable because they believe that everyone is valuable.

3. They’re humble.

Few things kill likeability as quickly as arrogance. Likeable leaders don’t act as though they’re better than you because they don’t think they’re better than you. Rather than being a source of prestige, they see their leadership position as additional accountability to serve those who follow them.

likeable leaders

4. They’re positive.

Likeable leaders always maintain a positive outlook and this shows in how they describe things. They don’t have to give a presentation to the board of directors; they get to share their vision and ideas with the board. They don’t have to go on a plant tour; they get to meet and visit with the people who make their company’s products. They don’t even have to diet; they get to experience the benefits of eating healthfully. Even in undeniably negative situations, likeable leaders emanate an enthusiastic hope for the future, a confidence that they can help make tomorrow better than today.

5. They’re even-keeled.

When it comes to their own accomplishments and failures, likeable leaders take things in stride. They don’t toot their own horns, nor do they get rattled when they blow it. They savor success without letting it go to their heads and readily acknowledge failure without getting mired in it. They learn from both and move on.

6. They’re generous.

We’ve all worked for someone who constantly holds something back, whether it’s knowledge or resources. They act as if they’re afraid you’ll outshine them if they give you access to everything you need to do your job. Likeable leaders are unfailingly generous with whom they know, what they know and the resources they have. They want you to do well more than anything else because they understand this is their job as a leader and because they’re confident enough to never worry that your success might make them look bad. In fact, they believe that your success is their success.

likeable leaders

7. They demonstrate integrity.

Likeable leaders inspire trust and admiration through their actions, not just their words. Many leaders say integrity is important to them, but likeable leaders walk their talk by demonstrating integrity every day. Even a leader who oozes charm won’t be likeable if that charm isn’t backed by a solid foundation of integrity.

8. They read people.

Likeable leaders know how to read people. They know unspoken communication is often more important than the words people say. They note facial expressions, body language and tone of voice in order to get what’s really going on with their people. In other words, they have high social awareness—a critical EQ skill.

9. They appreciate potential.

Robert Brault said, “Charisma is not so much getting people to like you as getting people to like themselves when you’re around.” Likeable leaders not only see the best in their people, but they also make sure everyone else sees it, too. They draw out people’s talents so everyone is bettering themselves and the work at hand.

10. They have substance.

Daniel Quinn said, “Charisma only wins people’s attention. Once you have their attention, you have to have something to tell them.” Likeable leaders understand their knowledge and expertise are critical to the success of everyone who follows them. Therefore, they regularly connect with people to share their substance (as opposed to superficial small talk). Likeable leaders don’t puff themselves up or pretend to be something they’re not, because they don’t have to. They have substance, and they share it with their people.

Likeability isn’t a birthright; it results from acquirable skills that are crucial to your professional success. And just like other professional skills, you can study the people who have them, copy what works, and adapt them to your own style. Try these 10 strategies and watch your likeability soar.

I hope you took this all in, like I did…. Brilliant.

Top 3 things you need to know with your Home Business

I read this great article about the top 3 things from written by Tom Drake and had to share it. Thank you Tom for backing up what I have been saying, but sometimes not doing, for years. Please enjoy… Chrissy. (we all need a boost sometimes)

Top 3 Things You Need to Know to Prosper in a Home Business

Τo run a successful home-based business, you need to operate on the web and learn three essential top 3 things. First, you must learn how to be good at online marketing. Second, you must learn how to successfully leverage social media. Third, you must become proficient at rolling out email marketing campaigns.

Besides running your business, you also should invest in work-life balance. While not essential for success, balancing work and family keeps everything running smoothly.

Become Good at Online Marketing

The first of the top 3 things is the purpose of online marketing. It is to attract visitors to your website to see your offering–you may be selling your own products or earning a commission for another merchant’s products. For your business to prosper, you will need lots of visitors to see your offering. Without a steady stream of traffic, you are like a small store sitting in a remote area with very few customers.

top 3 things

In the good old days, ranking high in search engine results was as simple as keyword stuffing. But these days, to make search queries more relevant, the search engines have outlawed this technique. Now webmasters are no longer certain what it takes to drive traffic. There are plenty of theories, but little consensus about what works.

But one thing that does appear to work well is interactive content. Interactive content is fresh content. The best way to provide it is through blogging. Blog posts provide fresh data and allow visitors to interact through comments.

There are several reasons why content marketing works as well as it does:

  • It gets attention.
  • It is easy to consume the information.
  • It encourages more interactions, which, in turn, increases views.
  • It creates a loyal following.
  • It connects with social media.
  • It offers data about what visitors like.

Leverage Social Media

Social media is one of the best free ways to announce your new posts. It also gives you a chance to interact with your audience and build relationships.

In a Forbes article, “Is Social Media Worth It For Small Businesses,” contributor Michael Fertik summarizes how to do it well:

top 3 things

“It’s common for small businesses to quickly jump into multiple social media streams. In fact, social platforms strategically make it very simple and quick to join the ranks. While that ease of adoption is great for small businesses, especially those with limited social media acumen, it’s actually something of a double-edged sword. You can create accounts and start sharing without ever really considering your audience. It’s much better to slow down and look at the data before you invest too much in one channel or spread yourself across too many. What type of customer is purchasing your products? What social channels do they frequent? What kind of content gets shared, liked or retweeted? If the data say that your average customer is a city-dwelling mother in her early 40s who likes Facebook, then there is no reason to spend your time and energy on Twitter at least initially”.

Roll Out Email Marketing Campaigns

Content converts visitors into buyers. Social media drives traffic to your website. And email marketing builds long-lasting relationships with visitors. It’s an excellent way to keep a good thing going.

The mechanics of email marketing are straightforward:

top 3 things

  • You capture email addresses when people arrive at your website. Make an irresistible offer that persuades people to subscribe to your newsletter. Use either an opt-in form or a light box that pops up when people scroll through your blog.
  • Next, you send visitors an email series; this is a digital newsletter. The most convenient way is to load prewritten emails into an autoresponder. You can also make special announcements communicated through broadcast emails.
  • ***From Me …..(This is exactly what our lead manager does. It has a great series of autoresponders) But it is not cold sending. It is set up to communicate with already qualified enquirers.

Work-Life Balance

Content marketing, social media, and email marketing are the nuts-and-bolts of running a home-based business.

But if you are running a home-based business, it is unlikely that you are using only a dedicated computer; your family may be using your computer, as well. In addition, you may be running your business on many devices, or utilizing a desktop, laptop, a tablet, or smartphone.

top 3 things

If you are a parent, you can use software such as WebSafety to help you monitor and control the use of mobile devices by your children. Although this is not a business application, it allows you to maintain a work-life balance.

These top 3 things, A very good read indeed. Very simple but enormously valuable information.

Attract more customers to your business

Good news to attract more customers:

Despite having umpteen other options for where to shop, one-third of consumers shop at a small business at least once a week, and three-fourths visit a small business at least once a month, reports a study by Vistaprint. How do customers discover these businesses. The survey has some answers that will help you attract more customers.

The top way consumers find small businesses is a tie between word-of-mouth and online. If you don’t have a website and/or a strong online presence, there’s an opportunity here for you to attract more customers simply by developing your online footprint.

What do I mean by that? Your online presence has several components.

attract more customers

Website: According to the study, about half of U.S. small businesses don’t have website all. If you’re one of them, think how much you could boost your business simply by launching a website. Of course, it’s not quite that simple: The survey found that a poorly designed website is worse than none at all. Nearly half (45 percent) of respondents say they are unlikely to patronize a small business that has a badly designed website. Among Millennials, this figure was even higher; just 5 percent of this age group say they would patronize a business with a poorly designed website.
Social media: Overall, six out of 10 survey respondents say that a small business needs a social media presence to help attract more customers, and 25 percent rate this as “very important.” As you might expect, social media matters a lot for Millennials when deciding what businesses to patronize. One out of four Millennial consumers starts with social media—rather than a general internet search or visiting a particular company’s website—when researching small businesses. (In comparison, just 7.5 percent of Baby Boomers do this.)
Online reviews: A whopping 75 percent of respondents say researching online reviews is “somewhat” or “very” important before they visit a business. Overall, half of respondents say that negative reviews are the number-one factor that would keep them from visiting a particular business.
Armed with this information, how can you improve your business’s “discoverability” factor? Here’s your four-step plan to attract more customers.

1. Get a business website. If you don’t already have a website, what are you waiting for? Setting up a business website is simple and easy these days. There are many services that offer all-in-one packages, including domain registration, website hosting and design, and even help with online marketing such as SEO (search engine optimization) and getting listed on local search directories. If you’re not technically inclined, getting the experts to help is a smart move.2

2. Improve your existing website. If your business website is more than a few years old, chances are it could use some updating. For one thing, is it mobile-friendly? Most customers looking for businesses use their mobile phones even when they’re at home, and if they can’t navigate your website easily on their phones, they’ll just click over to the competition. You can also consider adding features such as a click-to-call button so customers can contact you easily or online chat so they can get help with any questions they may have. Regularly monitoring your website for broken links and outdated information will help ensure it keeps driving customers to your business.

3. Get active on social media. You don’t have to be on every social network out there, but you should have a presence on those that matter to your target customers. A little market research will uncover whether that’s Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter or somewhere else. Post consistently, be responsive to customers’ comments and share useful information, and you’ll gradually build a following.

4. Monitor your online reviews. Regularly check your online reviews to catch any negative ones and take action. Reach out to customers with complaints and take the issue off-line feed can resolve it; then make sure you share the result on the review site so other potential customers know you handled it. Encourage happy customers to review you so you can build up a foundation of positive reviews.

Today, the Internet is just as important as word-of-mouth in building your business—and that trend is only going to increase. Take steps now to make the right moves that will attract customers to your business both now and in the future.

Attracting more customers is vital with ‘filling the pipe’. If you keep filling the customer pipe they will continue to dribble out, as the pipe gets fuller and fuller.

Cheers and a big thank you to the author of this article on how to attract more customers. And a bigger thank you to my good friends and mentors, Shane and Rachel Krider.

Baby steps or full throttle…. Chrissy.

Do You Love your Chosen Career?

Do you love your chosen career?

your chosen career

The reason I ask is because I’ve learned over the years that in order to create long lasting success and happiness, you really have to love what you do. So your chosen career can come along by accident if you follow your passions instead of your pension.

It’s been said that when you truly love what you do – you’ll never have to work another day in your life.

Unfortunately most people are not living their ideal dream life. Most are very frustrated and desperately want to make changes, but the struggle to bring about the necessary, mindset, motivation and belief system that brings those results of a fun and full-filled life about.

I found my passion when I moved forward with this business. I’m blessed to work in an environment which supports my goals, my ideals and my dreams. The people that I’ve met through this business have become like a second family to me. It might sound corny, but it’s true.

I now jump out of bed everyday knowing that I am supported – warts an all! I’ve found a place where I can express myself and the community of people I work alongside contribute and assist me in achieving my goals more than i ever could have imagined.

I am truly blessed to love what I do to earn a ‘very good’ living.

I understand that not every business is for every person and this business may not resonate with you, like it did with me. One thing I do know is that in order for you to make a decision for yourself we’ll have to connect so you can learn the ins and outs of what I do to see if it may be a good fit for you too.

My mentors and good friends, Rachel and Shane Krider have been instrumental in me pursuing my ongoing success journey. Their passion to serve and improve others around them is massively inspiring. A huge thank you, I will always be grateful

My Mission Statement and North Star

My Mission Statement

mission statementMy Mission Statement

One of my favorite parts of our Leadership curriculum is the section MY NORTH STAR.
I spent a long time on this as I had no idea what my North Star was.
For me at the start it was easier to call it my Mission Statement.
I think this was because I had heard other companies Mission Statements and recently
I have heard them referred to as Vision Statements.
My Business Mission.
We develop, market and deliver specialized education, training, experience and opportunities proven to empower men and women of all ages. To discover and attain new levels of personal, financial and professional success and achievements.
Nike’s mission statement is “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world.”
We also know it as  “Just Do It”.
Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear’s “To infinity and beyond.
Virgin Atlantic’s mission statement is ‘Safety, security and consistent delivery’.
After many attempts at my Personal North Star ( Mission Statement) I found that I did have
a few so these are the ones that felt right for me. To be an inspiration to my family and to become an inspirational leader to as many people as I can. To be able to assist my family live the life of their dreams. To share our success, experience and knowledge. To leave a legacy for my children because every generation deserves to live better than the one before it.
To be the Best Me I can be.
And this is what it all boils down to, being the best possible Me. To do this seems easy but the saying
“I’m not who I think I am, and I’m not who you think I am, But, I am who I think You think I am’ …..
(wow get your head around that one) once you read it 100 times and figure it out, this saying is so true.
Please share your North Star and the process you used to come up
with the one, that felt right for you.
Cheers Chrissy

Does your financial future have you STRESSED OUT?!!!!

How do you feel about your financial future right now?

Are you stressed? A 2012 survey conducted by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling found that 80% of Americans feel they could benefit from professional financial advice, and 42% would grade yourselves a C, D, or F when it comes to personal financial future.

financial future

First, find the root of what is causing the stress or insecurity. Is it not having enough money to retire? Is it not being able to pay your bills on time? Is it the balance in your bank account? Whatever it is, there are solutions. It is almost certain that somebody has been in your exact position and survived, so that’s the good news.

The bad news: it’s time to wake up and do something about it. And it’s probably not going to be easy. Here are four things you can do to relieve financial stress:

Evaluate Your Current Financial Education
Robert Kiyosaki says, “I’m always learning.” His learning never stops. A person’s education could never be complete. Even when it comes to a financial education, that creates your financial future, there’s always something new—or old for that matter—that you can study to gain a new perspective. Evaluating your current financial education can alleviate your stress because it will help you understand where your educational weaknesses lie.

Learn How to Budget
Over half of Americans report that they don’t have a budget at all, and about 20% say they don’t have a good idea of how much they spend on housing, food and entertainment.

Budgeting, or deciding how much money you have for each category of your expenses, is one of the best things you can do for your finances. It makes you conscious of your spending. Being consciousness about money is always a good thing.

Cut the Doodads
The most important thing is that your spending is intentional and responsible, rather than emotional or out-of-control. The one place that this happens is when you see your money going towards doodads—things that don’t put money in your pocket.

While you shouldn’t live a life of scarcity. it’s important to be smart about your purchases. Avoid making large purchases when you’re stressed or emotional about money. Try the “wait 48 hours” rule: this will help with impulse buys and give you time to evaluate if the purchase is really worth it.

Improve Your Financial Education
If you want to be infinitely rich, invest your time and effort in a financial education and discover what you need to do to increase your cash flow. Increasing your cash flow solves almost every money problem there is.

A Huge thank you to the RichDad organisation for their brilliant work.

Another thank you to my friend and mentor Shane Krider

Cheers, Chrissy

7 Steps to Achieving Your Dream

7 Steps to achieving Your Dream7 steps to achieving your dream

Can achievement be broken down into steps?

It isn’t always that clean and easy, but author Chris Widener says those who achieve great things usually follow these same seven steps. So if you have been struggling with achieving your dream, look through the following. Begin to apply them and you will be on the road to success.

Here are the 7 steps to achieving your dream.

Step 1: Dream it. Everything begins in the heart and mind. Every great achievement began in the mind of one person. They dared to dream, to believe that it was possible. Take some time to allow yourself to ask “What if?” Think big. Don’t let negative thinking discourage you. You want to be a “dreamer.” Dream of the possibilities for yourself, your family and for others. If you had a dream that you let grow cold, re-ignite the dream! Fan the flames. Life is too short to let it go.

Step 2: Believe it. Yes, your dream needs to be big. It needs to be something that is seemingly beyond your capabilities. But it also must be believable. You must be able to say that if certain things take place, if others help, if you work hard enough, though it is a big dream, it can still be done. Good example: A person with no college education can dream that he will build a $50 million-a-year company. That is big, but believable. Bad example: That a 90-year-old woman with arthritis will someday run a marathon in under three hours. It is big all right, but also impossible. She should instead focus on building a $50 million-a-year business! And she better get a move on!

Step 3: See it. The great achievers have a habit. They “see” things. They picture themselves walking around their CEO office in their new $25 million corporate headquarters, even while they are sitting on a folding chair in their garage “headquarters.” Great free-throw shooters in the NBA picture the ball going through the basket. PGA golfers picture the ball going straight down the fairway. World-class speakers picture themselves speaking with energy and emotion. All of this grooms the mind to control the body to carry out the dream.

The last 3 steps of 7 Steps to Achieving Your Dream.

Step 4: Tell it. One reason many dreams never go anywhere is because the dreamer keeps it all to himself. It is a quiet dream that only lives inside of his mind. The one who wants to achieve their dream must tell that dream to many people. One reason: As we continually say it, we begin to believe it more and more. If we are talking about it then it must be possible. Another reason: It holds us accountable. When we have told others, it spurs us on to actually doing it so we don’t look foolish.

Step 5: Plan it. Every dream must take the form of a plan. The old saying that you “get what you plan for” is so true. Your dream won’t just happen. You need to sit down, on a regular basis, and plan out your strategy for achieving the dream. Think through all of the details. Break the whole plan down into small, workable parts. Then set a time frame for accomplishing each task on your “dream plan.”

Step 6: Work it. Boy, wouldn’t life be grand if we could quit before this one! Unfortunately the successful are usually the hardest workers. While the rest of the world is sitting on their sofas watching reruns of Gilligan’s Island, achievers are working on their goal—achieving their dream. I have an equation that I work with: Your short-term tasks, multiplied by time, equal your long-term accomplishments. If you work on it each day, eventually you will achieve your dream. War and Peace was written, in longhand, page by page.

Step 7: Enjoy it. When you have reached your goal and you are closer to achieving your dream, be sure to enjoy it. In fact, enjoy the trip, too. Give yourself some rewards along the way. Give yourself a huge reward when you get there. Help others enjoy it. Be gracious and generous. Use your dream to better others. Then go back to No. 1. And dream a little bigger this time!

If Life gives you lemons make Lemonade

If Life gives you lemons make lemonade.

Louise Hay has always been an inspiration to me. Her vision and focus is to be admired but is also simply just being aware. Please enjoy her story.

“If the lemons are rotten, take out the seeds and plant them in order to grow new lemons”.

If Life gives you lemons make Lemonade

WHEN I WAS YOUNG, between my ignorance and lack of self-esteem, I went through a long series of low-paying jobs. I worked in drugstores, dime stores, and in the stockrooms of several department stores. While my dream was to be a movie star or a dancer, I had no idea how to go about achieving that. Any job beyond where I was, became a far-off dream. I was so uneducated that even a secretary’s job was out of my league.

Then one day, Life took an interesting turn; I must have been ready. I had a job in Chicago that paid $28 a week. Why I walked into the Arthur Murray dance studios that day, I can’t remember. But I did. A slick salesperson sold me $500 worth of dance lessons, and when I returned home that night, I couldn’t believe what I’d done. I was terrified. The next day after work, I went back to the studio and confessed my poverty. They said, “Oh, but you signed a contract, and you must pay us the money. However, we have a position open for a receptionist. Do you think you could do that?”

The job paid $10 a week more than I was making. It was a large studio with 40 teachers. We worked 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and always ate our meals together. Within two days, I discovered that I was capable of handling the teachers’ appointments, collecting money, and making all of those introductions. I had a built-in social life and never had more fun at a job.

It was a great turning point in my life.

After my job at Arthur Murray’s, I moved to New York and became a fashion model. But I never really possessed much self-worth or self-esteem until I began working on myself to release old negative beliefs from my childhood. In the early days, I had no idea how to change my situation. Now I know that the inner work must be done first. No matter how stuck we seem to be, it’s always possible to make positive changes.

If you were raised with the belief that you must “work hard” to earn a living, it’s time to let that belief go. Use the affirmation: Work is easy and fun for me or I enjoy all my work. Keep repeating these affirmations until your consciousness changes.

Do what you love and the money will come. Love what you do and the money will come. You have a right to enjoy earning money. Your responsibility to Life is to participate in enjoyable activities. As you find a way to do something that you enjoy,                                       Life will show you the way to prosperity and abundance. Our inner guidance never gives us shoulds. The purpose of life is to play. When work becomes play, it’s fun and rewarding. Negative attitudes about work create toxins in the body.

If you’ve been fired, please get over the bitterness as quickly as you can, for bitterness won’t bring good into your life. Affirm often: I bless my former boss with love. Out of this, only good will come. I am now moving into my greater good. I am safe and all is well. Then use affirmations for creating a new job.

It’s not what happens to you, but how you handle it. If Life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If the lemons are rotten, take out the seeds and plant them in order to grow new lemons.

Sometimes when we get very close to our dreams, we become so frightened of having what we really want that we begin to sabotage ourselves. As hard as it is to imagine, we’re doing this to protect ourselves. Making a big move, having the ideal job, earning really good money, can be a very scary undertaking. What if I fail? What if people won’t like me? What if I’m not happy?

These questions represent the part of you that’s very afraid of the fulfillment of your dreams. Often, your inner child is the key to your fears. It’s time to be very loving, patient, and gentle with yourself. Reassure your inner child, love it, and make it feel safe.

Don’t get stuck with the belief that it’s hard to find a job. This may be true for many, but it doesn’t have to be true for you. You only need one job. Your clear consciousness will open the pathway for you. Too many people put so much faith in fear. When there’s a shift in the economy, the masses immediately buy into all the negative aspects and constantly talk about it. What you dwell on and accept in your consciousness becomes true for you.

When I hear about negative trends in business or the economy, I immediately affirm: It may be true for some, but it’s not true for me. I always prosper no matter where I am or what is going on. As you think and speak, you’re creating your future experiences. Be very careful about how you talk about prosperity. You always have the option of choosing poverty thinking or prosperity thinking. For at least the next week, notice how you talk about money, work, career, the economy, savings, and retirement. Listen to yourself. Make sure that the words aren’t creating poverty now or in the future.

Are you in a job now where you feel stuck? Do you hate your job or find that you’re just putting in your time to bring home a paycheck? There are definitely things that you can do to make positive changes. These ideas may sound silly or simplistic, but I know they work. I’ve seen countless people change their working situations for the better. The most powerful tool you can use to transform a situation is the power of blessing with love. No matter where you work or how you feel about the place: Bless it with love! I mean that literally. Affirm: I bless my job with love.

If Life gives you lemons make Lemonade

Don’t stop here. Bless with love the building, your desk (if you have one), the various machines that you may use, the products, the customers, the people you work with, and the people you work for, and anything else associated with your job. This will work wonders.

If there’s a person at work that you’re having difficulty with, then use your mind to change the situation. Use the affirmation: I have a wonderful working relationship with everyone at work, including (insert person’s name). Every time this person comes into your mind, repeat the affirmation. You’ll be amazed by how this situation will change for the better.

If you want to secure a new job, then in addition to blessing your current job with love, say this affirmation: I release my job with love to the next person, who will be so glad to be here. This job was ideal for you when you got it. It was the perfect reflection of your sense of self-worth at that time. Now you’ve grown and are moving on to better things. Now your affirmation is: If Life gives you lemons make Lemonade.

I know that there are people out there looking for exactly what I have to offer. I now accept a job that uses all my creative talents and abilities. This job is deeply fulfilling, and it is a joy for me to go to work each day. I work with and for people who appreciate me. The building is light, bright, and airy and filled with a feeling of enthusiasm. It is in the perfect location, and I earn good money, for which I am deeply grateful.
If you hate the job that you have now, you’ll take that feeling of hatred with you. Even if you get a good new job, in a short time you’ll find yourself hating the new one, too. Whatever feelings you have within you now, you’ll carry to the new place. If you live in a world of discontentment, you’ll find it everywhere you go. You must change your consciousness now before you can see positive results in your life. Then, when the new job comes, it will be good, and you’ll appreciate it and enjoy it.

So affirm: I always love where I work. I have the best jobs. I am always appreciated. By continually affirming this, you’re creating a new personal law for yourself. The Universe will have to respond in kind. Life will always pick the most appropriate channels to bring forth your good, if you allow it!

A BIG thank you to Louise Hay for always inspiring me and writing If Life gives you lemons make Lemonade.

p.s. One thing I have observed is that most people create their own lemons and put the blame on someone or something else. Self responsibility is rare but becoming more common as people use the vast amounts of self development information available.

Cheers Chrissy Greig.
